How we compare

Updated 31 October 2026

Every comparison is based on the conditions published by the firms themselves (official website, FAQ, terms and conditions). When a piece of information is not confirmed by an official source, we say so rather than guess.

Criteria for a prop firm

  • Loss rules: maximum daily loss and maximum overall loss, and above all how they are calculated (static or trailing). This is the leading cause of failure.
  • Targets and deadlines: profit target, minimum number of trading days, time limit.
  • Price and refund: challenge price and any refund of fees with the first payout.
  • Profit split and payouts: percentage paid out, frequency, payout track record.
  • Platforms: cTrader, MetaTrader, others.
  • Automated trading: whether bots are allowed, and restrictions (high-frequency trading, trade copying, arbitrage).
  • Reputation: time in business, verified reviews, public incidents.

Criteria for a trading VPS

  • Server location relative to brokers' servers (London LD4, New York NY4).
  • Actual resources (memory, processor) to run one or more platform instances.
  • Monthly price, uptime guarantee, trial or refund period.

Hands-on tests

When we have tested a product ourselves, the page says so, with the date and what was measured. Without this statement, the comparison is based solely on the published conditions.

Updates

Prop firms often change their rules and prices. Each page shows the date it was last updated. Always check the conditions on the official website before buying.

Commissions

We earn commissions on some links. The ranking is drawn up first, and links are added afterwards. A firm with no affiliate programme can still be recommended.
