cTrader-Compatible Prop Firms in 2026

Updated on October 31, 2026 · rules verified on the official websites

cTrader has gained a lot of ground among prop firms, especially since several firms had to scale back their use of MetaTrader. But offering cTrader does not mean accepting your cBots. For an automated trader, the real question has two parts: is the platform available, and are bots allowed on it?

Our pick for cBots: FTMO. Official cTrader, bots allowed with no paid add-on, and clear limits. E8 Markets and The5%ers also accept cBots, with stricter rules. See also our comparison of prop firms that accept bots.

What can make a cBot fail a challenge

  • The number of requests: a bot that modifies its orders on every tick can exceed the server request limit. Batch your modifications.
  • The daily loss: program your own limit, stricter than the prop firm's, and shut the bot off when it is reached.
  • Economic news: some firms prohibit trading around high-impact news releases. Add a calendar filter.
  • Prohibited strategies: latency arbitrage, high-frequency trading, opposite positions across accounts. Read the firm's list before you launch the bot.
  • Uptime: a cBot has to run without interruption. A trading VPS protects you from your computer shutting down.

Before you buy a challenge for your cBot

If your cBot comes from the cTrader Store, first make sure it is not a shared bot that your prop firm prohibits: see our cTrader Store guide.

Run the bot for several weeks on a cTrader demo account, replicating the prop firm's rules exactly: account size, daily loss, total loss. If it does not follow the rules on demo, it will not follow them in the challenge.
