Best VPS for cTrader and cBots in 2026

Updated on October 31, 2026 · terms verified on the official websites

A cBot only runs while cTrader stays open. On your own computer, sleep mode, a dropped connection or a Windows update is enough to stop it at the worst possible moment. A VPS (virtual private server) is a remote Windows computer that is always on, where cTrader and your bots run 24/7.

Our pick for most cTrader traders: FXSVPS. It is the cheapest offer we found for running one or two instances of cTrader on Windows, cTrader comes preinstalled, there are servers in London close to LD4, and a 3-day free trial lets you check latency with your broker before you pay.

Why location matters

Every order from your bot travels from the VPS to your broker's server. The closer they are, the faster the execution. Many cTrader brokers host their servers in London, in the Equinix LD4 data center. A VPS located in London, ideally close to LD4, cuts the delay to about one millisecond. Before choosing, check where your broker's or prop firm's servers are located.

For a bot that opens a few positions a day, the difference between 1 and 20 milliseconds is negligible. For a scalper targeting a few points, it matters.

Each provider in detail

FXSVPS: the best value for cTrader

FXSVPS has a page dedicated to cTrader, with the platform preinstalled and the .NET environment ready for cBots. The Lite plan (2 vCPU, 3 GB of memory) is enough for two or three terminals. Servers are available in more than forty cities, including London, New York, Frankfurt and Dubai, with advertised latency under 1 ms to LD4. The Windows license is included and the 3-day free trial does not require a credit card.

NYC Servers: a forex specialist located at LD4

NYC Servers clearly lists its locations (NY4, LD4, Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong, Dublin) and preinstalls cTrader. The Basic plan (2 cores, 2 GB) suits one or two accounts; the Standard plan (4 GB) gives you more headroom if you run several cBots. There is no free trial, but there is a 14-day refund.

ForexVPS.net: solid but more expensive

ForexVPS.net is cTrader-compatible and offers around twenty cities with Equinix colocation. The price becomes attractive with annual billing. The Core plan (2 cores, 4 GB) is comfortable for one or two platforms.

FXVPS.pro: the cheapest option

FXVPS.pro offers Windows servers in London, New York, Gravelines (France) and Singapore, compatible with MT4, MT5 and cTrader (cTrader is not preinstalled). The Basic plan (1 core, 1 GB) starts at $6.99 a month, or $4.89 a month over 24 months, but 1 GB of memory is tight for cTrader. For one or two cBots, go for the Professional plan (2 cores, 3 GB) at $13.99 a month instead. The website does not specify an LD4 data center. Note: refunds are only partial and limited to the first 3 days, and plans bought with a discount are non-refundable.

QuantVPS: built for futures

QuantVPS is heavily focused on futures (CME, NinjaTrader), with servers in Chicago. It offers London, but does not mention cTrader. It is a good choice if you trade futures, less obvious for a forex cBot.

What about a generic VPS like Hetzner?

Generic clouds are much cheaper, but they do not provide Windows and have no data center in London. They suit traders who are comfortable with server administration, for example to run cBots on Linux with cTrader's command-line tools. For most traders, a ready-to-use trading VPS saves hours of setup.

How much memory do you need?

  • 1 cTrader instance with a few cBots: 2 to 3 GB is enough.
  • 2 to 3 instances (for example a challenge account and a personal account): aim for 4 GB.
  • Heavy backtests or optimizations: run them on your own computer instead and keep the VPS for execution.

A VPS makes execution more reliable, not the strategy. A losing bot is still a losing bot on a fast server. Always test a cBot on demo before using it on a challenge or a live account.
