FTMO or FundedNext: Which One Should You Choose in 2026?

Updated on October 31, 2026 · rules verified on the official websites

FTMO and FundedNext are the two prop firms most followed by US and English-speaking traders. On paper, their 2-step challenges look very similar. The differences come down to the phase 1 target, promotions, payout frequency and bots.

In short: FundedNext is often cheaper and its phase 1 target is lower. FTMO is more established and far more flexible if you use a bot, especially on cTrader.

Price: FundedNext has the edge

FundedNext regularly advertises large discounts. FTMO rarely changes its prices. Always compare the final price at checkout, account size by account size, because promotions change every week.

Rules: FundedNext has the edge for phase 1

Aiming for 8% instead of 10% in phase 1 reduces the pressure, with identical maximum losses. FTMO makes up for it with one fewer minimum trading day per phase.

Bots and cTrader: a clear edge for FTMO

This is the most important difference for an automated trader. FTMO allows bots on all its platforms, as long as you follow its anti-abuse rules. FundedNext prohibits them on cTrader and only accepts them on MT4/MT5 below 50k, with a paid add-on.

Reliability: FTMO has the edge

FTMO has been around since 2014 and now owns a regulated broker, OANDA. FundedNext is newer, but it also has a large community and thousands of reviews.

Our verdict

If you trade manually and price matters, FundedNext is an excellent choice. If you use a bot, or if you want the most established firm, go with FTMO.
