Tradezella: the trading journal for passing a challenge
Most challenges are lost on a rule broken on a bad day, not on a wrong analysis. A trading journal helps you see those days coming: which hours, which instruments and which mistakes cost you the most. Tradezella is one of the most widely used journals among prop firm traders. Here is what it really does, and what it costs.
Our take: a very good tool if you take one challenge after another or trade with a cBot, thanks to automatic sync with cTrader and MT5 and prop firm rule tracking. For a single account and occasional use, the entry plan is enough, but the tool is still paid.

Why keep a journal during a challenge
A challenge is a set of numerical rules: daily loss, total loss, target. A journal turns your trades into statistics: your average loss per day, your worst time slots, the number of trades you take after a loss. That is often where you discover that the daily loss limit only gets hit after your third position of the day, or always on the same instrument. See also our method for passing a prop firm challenge.
What Tradezella does
- Automatic sync with more than 500 advertised brokers and prop firms, including cTrader (you connect with your cTrader ID), MT4 and MT5.
- Prop Firm Sync: tracks your challenge's target and maximum losses.
- Trade Replay: replay a trade candle by candle to understand what happened.
- Backtesting on more than 11 years of data, plus AI-assisted backtesting on the higher plans.
- Reports and playbooks: more than 50 reports, and strategy sheets to check that you follow your own rules.
cTrader, MT5 and FTMO
For cTrader, Tradezella imports your past and future trades once you connect your account. For an FTMO challenge on MT4 or MT5, sync works with the server and the investor password (read-only), or by importing the MT5 HTML report. TradingView and Match-Trader are only supported through file import.

The Essential plan is enough to track a single challenge. If you run several accounts at the same time, for example a challenge and a funded account, you need to move up to Pro.
Who is it for?
- Yes if you take one challenge after another, trade several accounts or run a cBot whose results you want to analyze.
- Not essential if you are starting out with a single small challenge: a well-kept spreadsheet already does much of the work.
