Prop Firms With No Time Limit in 2026

Updated October 31, 2026 · rules checked on the official websites and help centers

A few years ago, most challenges had to be passed within 30 days. That's no longer the case: the big prop firms have dropped the time limit. But "no limit" doesn't mean "no constraints": minimum trading days, expiry for inactivity, consistency rules. Here's how it really works.

In short: FTMO, FundedNext, The5%ers and E8 Markets no longer set a time limit on their challenges. The real difference comes down to minimum trading days and inactivity.

Why it's a real advantage

A 30-day limit pushes you to take more risk as the month goes on and the target is still out of reach. With no limit, you can wait for the right setups, take a break after a losing streak, or sit out a week packed with news releases. It's the best protection against hitting the daily loss limit.

The constraints that remain

Minimum trading days

Even if you pass in two days, an FTMO 2-Step challenge requires at least 4 trading days per phase. At The5%ers, it's profitable days (a gain of at least 0.5%) that count.

Inactivity

The5%ers closes the account after 30 days of inactivity, and E8 Markets after 60 days without a trade. If you're going on vacation, note the date.

Consistency rules

The rules also reward taking your time: on the FTMO 1-Step, your best day must not exceed 50% of total profit; on E8 Pro, a single day can count for no more than 2% of the target.

Which one should you choose?

  • For beginners: a 2-step challenge with no time limit and a fee refund. FTMO or FundedNext.
  • For a patient trader aiming for a large account: The5%ers and its scaling plan.
  • For a single phase: the FTMO 1-Step or E8 Markets, with tighter max losses.
